Part 91, Soil Erosion
and Sedimentation Control (SESC), of the Natural Resources and
Environmental Protection Act, 1994 PA 451, as amended, mandates that
every county will operate a state approved SESC program.
The program is designed to provide SESC
permits and assistance to residential and commercial landowners who
engage in construction projects in
Gogebic County .
The law basically requires a SESC plan
and permits to be in place for “earth changes” that are one (1) acre
in size or greater, and/or within five hundred (500) feet of a lake
or stream.
